The Novadrum 28 is a handcrafted steel tongue drum made of polished stainless steel, with 8 notes and tuned overtones — perfect for relaxation, meditation, and stress relief. Ideal for beginners and musicians, it enhances creativity and inner peace. Gold is our polished stainless steel in its real golden colour — the colour of the steel itself — with the same sound as our Chromecore models.
🎵 Tuning: 440 Hz or 432 Hz?
Every Nova model is made in two tunings. It is the same drum – the same steel, size, number of notes and handcrafted quality. Only the pitch reference is different.
- 440 Hz – the international concert standard. Choose it if you want to play along with guitars, pianos, ukuleles or other instruments, with recordings and backing tracks, or check your drum with standard tuner apps.
- 432 Hz – tuned slightly lower (about 32 cents, roughly a third of a semitone). Many people find its sound softer and warmer and choose it for meditation, sound healing, yoga and solo playing.
💡 Not sure which to choose? If you plan to play with other musicians or along with recorded music, choose 440 Hz. For relaxation and playing on your own, both work beautifully – 432 Hz is a popular choice.

I’m a beginner. Can I play on it?
Sure! It's a completely intuitive drum. This will suit everyone, even for children. You don't have to know the notes. Thanks to wide selection of harmonic scales - everyone will be able to choose an instrument for themselves.
Therapy: 15-20 minutes playing per day will give boost of energy, relieve stress and fatigue, also help to relax.
How to choose the scale?
Main rule is: Trust Your Intuition.
We recommend relying on your hearing and feeling when listening to an instrument.
Try to get away from making choices with mind, rely on your heart.

What’s difference between model sizes?
Main rule is: The bigger size - the deeper sound. But it has to balance for you as the larger size adds weight. You can choose between 28, 38 or 48cm. Scales in stock ship in 1–3 business days; made-to-order scales are handcrafted and shipped within 1–2 weeks (the product page shows the status of the selected scale).
We also sew convenient cases that will allow travel with your instrument easily.
There is no best size - each is good in its own area! Choose the size of instrument that suits best exactly for you.
Does the colour / coating affect sound?
The sound is affected by many factors, such as geometry of the shells, the mark of steel and even width of the sound zone.If you like an instrument with a textured coating - of course, micro thickness of coating will add a little "dryness" to drum vibrations while a clean surface will be more ringing. But this is a very insignificant difference and should not affect your choice. The sound meets our high standards - you can choose the color and style that suits you best. Sound quality comes first.

The craftsmanship of this is great and the sound is good too. Very portable. I wont get many in this size though because as good as it is, it doesn't sound as impressive as the big ones. In my opinion if you cant afford a big one this will be very nice.
