Nova 48 12+1 Gold – 19-Inch Steel Tongue Drum, 13 Notes, 440 Hz
🎵 Tuning: 440 Hz – international standard pitch. Also available in 432 Hz.
The Nova 48 12+1 is the largest and most powerful model in our collection: 13 notes (12+1), handcrafted from polished stainless steel, delivering the deepest tones and strongest vibrations. It is ideal for sound healing, music therapy, and meditation. While accessible to beginners, there’s plenty to explore and learn, making it perfect for all skill levels. Gold is our polished stainless steel in its real golden colour — the colour of the steel itself — with the same sound as our Chromecore models.
🎨 Available Engraving Designs:
- Flower of Life – symbol of unity, creation, and harmony
- Mandala – representing wholeness and inner peace
- OM – sacred sound of the universe, ideal for meditation
- Sakura – Japanese cherry blossoms symbolizing renewal and beauty
- Sri Yantra – ancient symbol of spiritual balance and energy
- Tree of Life – representing connection, growth, and grounding
- Yin Yang – the balance of duality and harmony in life
✨ These engravings are laser-etched onto the center of the drum, creating a beautiful, lasting impression that won’t wear off over time.

🎵 Tuning: 440 Hz or 432 Hz?
Every Nova model is made in two tunings. It is the same drum – the same steel, size, number of notes and handcrafted quality. Only the pitch reference is different.
- 440 Hz – the international concert standard. Choose it if you want to play along with guitars, pianos, ukuleles or other instruments, with recordings and backing tracks, or check your drum with standard tuner apps.
- 432 Hz – tuned slightly lower (about 32 cents, roughly a third of a semitone). Many people find its sound softer and warmer and choose it for meditation, sound healing, yoga and solo playing.
💡 Not sure which to choose? If you plan to play with other musicians or along with recorded music, choose 440 Hz. For relaxation and playing on your own, both work beautifully – 432 Hz is a popular choice.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
I’m a beginner. Can I play on it?
Sure! It's a completely intuitive drum. This will suit everyone, even for children. You don't have to know the notes. Thanks to wide selection of harmonic scales - everyone will be able to choose an instrument for themselves.
Therapy: 15-20 minutes playing per day will give boost of energy, relieve stress and fatigue, also help to relax.
How to choose the scale?
Main rule is: Trust Your Intuition.
We recommend relying on your hearing and feeling when listening to an instrument.
Try to get away from making choices with mind, rely on your heart.
You can find the sound samples of each scale in the product card.
*Most popular for beginners - Celtic Minor.
What’s difference between model sizes?
Main rule is: The bigger size - the deeper sound. But it has to balance for you as the larger size adds weight. You can choose between 28, 38 or 48cm. Scales in stock ship in 1–3 business days; made-to-order scales are handcrafted and shipped within 1–2 weeks (the product page shows the status of the selected scale).
We also sew convenient cases that will allow travel with your instrument easily.
There is no best size - each is good in its own area! Choose the size of instrument that suits best exactly for you.
Does the colour / coating affect sound?
The sound is affected by many factors, such as geometry of the shells, the mark of steel and even width of the sound zone.If you like an instrument with a textured coating - of course, micro thickness of coating will add a little "dryness" to drum vibrations while a clean surface will be more ringing. But this is a very insignificant difference and should not affect your choice. The sound meets our high standards - you can choose the color and style that suits you best. Sound quality comes first.
I did write a review on my most recent purchase from NovaDrum, but I wish to add to it.
I failed to mention that I love how they continue to evolve and create new beautiful products .
Most importantly, what I failed to mention is that no matter what is going on around me or within me, whenever I play one of these drums within a few seconds, I feel peace. It is hard to find peace these days no matter where you live. I love that even though in spite of all the ugliness and uncertainty we are all facing, NovaDrum continues to create Peace and wellbeing.
I also love that

Thankyou so much to the Nova drum team, for making me an exceptional drum C Pymgy 432hz & sending it all the way to New Zealand. Beautiful Craftsmanship & Value for money.
The service via direct chat is sensational. Super nice people at Novadrum! The 48 12+1 drum is an excellent, serious musical instrument. It is very well tuned. It has a deep sound, punch and many nuances. It can be played in many different ways and is also perfect for percussive sound-design. Pure pleasure to play.
I've never plaid a large tongue drum before. It's relatively easy to play and the resonance is beautiful. The customer service was fast and professional. It was cool that I got to pick out a design for the middle. I wish there was a better tutorial for beginner players online.
Fantastic presence and deep resonance make this an amazing experience. It has an emotional sound that can express feelings of love or loss. If you want something impressive, buy this.
I am beyond thrilled with the Big 13 note Tongue Drum in B Celtic Minor I just received from NOVADRUM. It was delivered faster than I expected & I was able to track when it left Ukraine all the way to when it arrived in United States right to when it was going to be delivered to my house. I ordered through Etsy but I was in conversations with the owner,Johnny, before I ordered & he contacted me immediately after I placed the order to confirm my scale.. and accessories & the design I wanted. My NOVADRUM is just as beautiful as you see and hear on You Tube. I studied all their videos for a month before I decided what to order. The tone of my tongue drum is gorgeous ! When I hit the deepest center tongue with a mallet for the first time my 3 grandchildren said in unison “WOW” !! My feelings exactly!!
My Nova Drum was carefully packaged. Contact with Nova Drum was friendly and helpful and my drum is all that I hoped for! It is of high quality and I am really pleased with it.
