NovaDum – The Evolution of Sound by NovaDrum

Since 2016, we’ve been refining our craft — not just to make beautiful steel instruments, but to reinvent what a tongue drum can be.

We began, like many makers, with classic tank drums — simple, raw, and soulful. But as we listened, built, tested, and listened again… we heard room for something more. That’s how Tongue Drum 2.0 was born.

🔍 What's the Difference?

Let’s break it down — not just by sound, but by everything that makes a drum great to play.

🛠️ Steel & Structure

Old tank drums used thick ferrous steel with welded edges. Heavy and strong — but this added bell-like resonance and uneven tone.

Tongue Drum 2.0 is made with stainless steel and sealed, not welded. The result? A top shell that sings and a bottom that resonates beautifully.

🔊 Sound Quality

Tank drums had chaotic sound zones. Our upgraded drums are built with controlled vibration zones and tuned by ear — producing cleaner, brighter, longer-lasting tones.

🎶 Tongue Design & Harmonics

Old-school layout? One petal = one note, no overtones. But in 2.0, we go further.

We use an international “hand by hand” layout with extra overtone tuning on each note and harmonic shaping that keeps the main note ringing longer and deeper.

💡 Ergonomics & Durability

With improved sealant edges and lighter steel, the new generation is easier to carry, more durable, and better suited for any environment — studio, street, or stage.

And yes, we even added non-slip rubber feet and a wooden lid resonator for a cleaner tone on hard surfaces.

🌍 More Than Just an Upgrade

We don’t just make instruments. We build tools for emotion, meditation, creativity — and yes, sometimes just pure fun.

With over 2,000 sales on Etsy and hundreds of glowing Reviews, we’re proud to say: Tongue Drum 2.0 isn’t just the next step — it’s a leap.
